Sense nature in the Enztal valley
The Black Forest is among the most attractive landscapes for nature lovers, ramblers and mountain bikers - and in the middle of it is the Enztal valley with its mountains, valleys, forests, rivers, endless walks, bike paths, and challenging trails far from the bustle of everyday life.
The Enztal valley is directly on the Mittelweg trail, one of three long-distance hiking routes through the Black Forest. The Mittelweg trail leads from Pforzheim to Waldshut. The Westweg trail can also be joined from here, either through Dobel or near Hohloh on Kaltenbronn. The 235-kilometre trail network is well signposted in the Black Forest Association's standard marking system.
Touring cyclists, mountain bikers and road cyclists will find exceptionally diverse terrain here. You can cycle at leisure past river meadows and across plateaus, or you can aspire to breathtaking climbs, fast descents and technically challenging single trails. The Murgtal-Enztal Mountainbike Arena network system offers varied terrain and GPS routing. Fans of dirt jump, Biker-X, dual slalom, North Shore, free ride or downhill biking will get their money's worth at Bikepark Bad Wildbad.
If you are looking for a more relaxed way to explore the Black Forest, an electric bike is just right (e-bike rentals on site). The 115-kilometre Enztal cycle path is great for families. It starts at Enzklösterle-Poppeltal and takes you through Bad Wildbad, Pforzheim and Vaihingen-Enz, ending at Walheim, where the Enz flows into the Neckar.
Speaking of family fun - boredom is never an issue in the Enztal valley, not even for the youngest family members. Walking on the troll path, climbing to dizzying heights in the trees of the Klettergarten adventure park, miniature golf, swimming, fly fishing, paragliding, canoeing, horseback riding and sledding down the longest slide in southern Germany... There are lots of things for children and the young at heart to do, making your family holiday in the Black Forest a special experience in the Enztal valley.
